School Bus Driver Seats

A bus driver seat must be designed to reduce driver fatigue and stress brought on by hours of day-to-day driving. Some of the most important features include height adjustment, which affects a driver’s ability to reach the pedals and have a clear view ahead of them. Suspension is another key feature. It cuts down on vertical motion, helping to reduce the shock and vibration caused by driving a large vehicle.
These and other features can be found in our line of National Seating products, which include the Routemaster 350/640 school bus seats. These have a dual-shock and adjustable air ride suspension, which itself allows for 6 inches of vertical travel. Built with a scissor suspension, the Magnus Heavy Duty Truck/Bus Seat has a weight capacity of up to 650 pounds. It also has a multi-chamber back support and allows bilateral adjustments to prevent lateral torque.
The Bostrom T900R Routemaster Static Drivers Seat has a 5-inch vertical adjustment pedestal in addition to 6 inches of fore and aft slide adjustment. Its wide cushion, fixed lumbar support, and high back contribute to an ergonomic design.
At Suburban Seating & Safety, we also offer air suspension seats from National (for Thomasbilt C2 model buses) and other ergonomically supported seats from USSC, Bostrom, National, ISRI, and more.
